7 Science will be focusing on parts of cells, learning about the organelles that help a cell function and stay healthy. The students have their cell project sheets and can start to narrow down their scope of materials and (potential) edible items for their cells.
8 Science is almost done with the unit on Rocks and Minerals. Tuesday we will be doing a lab on the rock cycle to look at how heat, pressure, and chemistry play a part in breaking down and creating different types of rocks. We will be having a test on our Rock unit on the 6th of December.
7 Social Studies has started learning about ancient India - it's geography and early government system. Next up will be some of the early forms of Hinduism and Buddhism, as well as several other societal impacts of these two faiths. We will be having a quiz on Ancient India, but no date has been set as yet - each student has been given a review to go over in their google classroom account.
8 Social Studies has been focusing on the early Revolutionary War, but as we approach it mid-way, we start to look at some of the other countries that influenced the battles in the Americas as well as some of the key players that helped keep up the battle for freedom. A review has been shared with them. We will have a Quiz on December 11th.
Socks for Veterans will continue until November 26th - Mrs. Peterson is collecting and will be taking them to the VA Hospital .
PTO Baskets for the Raffle at the Winter Concert has extended turn in dates - We will now be collecting items for the baskets until Monday December 2nd - hooray for Black Friday Shopping!
7th Grade theme is "Basket O' Baskets" - each student will collect several items that they would like to have as a mini-basket for our larger class basket .
