About Mrs. Maass...
"The only thing in my life that compatibly exists with this
grand universe are the creative works of the human spirit"
- Ansel Adams
My name is Kelly Maass and I love my job teaching your kids about Science and Social Studies.... and I am not afraid to wield that sharp stick of "truth".
I grew up in South Milwaukee, WI and spent my summers in the North-woods. I am a dual-sport motorcycle rider, a hiker, a fisher, a kayak-er, and a nature lover. A dog walker, a horseback rider, and an artist. I enjoy rock climbing, photography, and reading. I am a road tripper and a "weekend get-a-way" er!
Travel has always been a big part of my education. High School saw me traveling in Canada and Germany and visiting family in the Southwest. In college I went to Costa Rica for winter break, and Switzerland with my Great Uncle to go hiking the summer after my junior year. I have been able to experience a lot of different cultures and meet a lot of amazing people. I enjoy riding my bike through the North-woods and planning long adventure rides with my husband and getting outdoors. There are two large Dual Sport Rallys in the North-woods of Wisconsin that I take part in and it has opened my life up to some pretty amazing people from around the world. Its a busy life, but it is mine and I am very thankful for it.
Besides traveling, I like to spend time with friends, exploring the U.P., and with my family near Tipler and Three Lakes, WI.
I graduated from UW- Stevens Point in January of 2008 and have been in education ever since.
I believe that we never stop learning, and recently earned my Science Certification as well as my Elementary Certification and am excited to challenge myself in a new area soon. This year I also began teaching Project Lead the Way courses in our Middle School Classrooms and am loving the time spent teaching and guiding the kids through the different projects.
Please let me know if there is any way I can be of help, or answer any questions you may have.
Lets have an awesome year, Bulldogs!
