7 & 8 Science has had a blast dissecting brains - sheep brains. We had a lot of fun discovering the different parts of the brain, looking at how the senses relay through the thalamus, and also thinking about how injury can lead to complications in memory and thinking processes.
7 Social Studies took a look at Japan's culture and religion, as well as the impact that WWII had on the area, people, and economy. We are also going to be looking at the Maya, Inca, and Aztec civilizations.
8 Social Studies is finishing up the year by looking at the death of Lincoln, Presidential Reconstruction, and the cultural impact of failed attempts to fully integrate wants, needs, and necessities of the rendered halves of the nation.
A huge thank you to 8th grade for 3 great years of working with you and my biggest wishes for success and healthy challenges in your lives ahead.
