1) Our brains do tend to forget over the summer, so reading and playing a few educational games is NOT going to hurt them as much as they think it will!
2) Lockers need to be empty and Locks turned in by the end of the day on Thursday - if they need you to rent a U-Haul in order to get all their things home, now is the time to speak up. (I am sorry, but I can NOT rent out the science closet as temporary storage... )
3) Yearbooks are read by parents, grandparents, and students for years to come - if they choose to write something dis-pleasurable in another students yearbook, it will be there forever and will be a memory that can not be easily forgotten. And their choices reflect on those they are close to even when we don't want them to
4) They need to use sunscreen and stay hydrated - more than a dozen kids came back from the track meet with sunburns because they didn't use a sunscreen... It isn't to pester them, it is to help protect them from damaging their integumentary system - the body's #1 defense against infection and disease - if they take care of it, it will take care of them!
5) They did well this year :)
I hope you all have a wonderful summer with lots of time to relax, reflect, and reconnect with your friends, family, and most importantly, your students!
See you in the fall-
Mrs. Hanson
