In 8th grade, we have begun a new unit on the human body and its systems - we will be ending our study of human genetics today and diving into this new material tomorrow! 8th grade has also been learning about the social and political changes that led to the Civil War - we are fast approaching the study of the division of our nation.
7th grade has been studying the Indian sub-continent and will be looking at China, Mongolia and Taiwan this coming week as well. In science, we have continued studying the resources around us as well as the impact that humans and society can have on the environment.
And last but not least - 6th grade science has begun looking at the changes in organisms over time as well as how we classify the different species in the world around us.
Parents in 6th and 7th grade, please take notice that we will be returning to Chicago this year for our field trip - this time we will be heading to Shedd Aquarium! The date for our field trip will be May 28th. We will be sending home letters looking for chaperons later in May, so don't worry - you haven't missed any forms or letters.
A big Thank You to our Parents who attended the PTO meeting in April! We would love to see more of you at the May PTO meeting as well! Not only does it help with Field Trips, but it also brings fresh ideas and helps spread ideas throughout the community!
I hope everyone had a wonderful break, and are ready for the last month and a half of school! Stay focused, stay responsible, and stay on top of our education!
Go Bulldogs! Woof!
