7 Science just wrapped up their study of body systems. We had our frog dissections last Wednesday and I was very impressed with their attitude and maturity while in lab and working through the dissection. I am also really happy to say that we begin Project Lead The Way next week! This will be an eye opening and hands on learning experience!
8 Science has been working in the computer lab with 3Design and GeoGebra to create three dimensional computer based graphics of their puzzle cube pieces. We have also been timing the different trials for the assembly of their cube puzzles. Please give them a hand and help them collect data for PLTW as we need some good information for next week.
7 Social Studies just wrapped up their study of the Romans with a quiz on Thursday. They had some wonderful connections and seemed to enjoy learning about the rise and fall of Rome. Next we look at the Islamic faith and compare it to other world religions before moving on to other African cultures and then, back to China!
8 Social Studies is beginning to study the North and its culture, economy and industry in the mid 1850s. We will have a quiz on the North before moving on to a study of the culture of theSouth at the same time. We will then look at the changing cultures of the two which will lead us into the Civil War.
A friendly reminder that all 7th Grade Field Trip slips are due by April 13 - both the YMCA waiver and the School Field Trip slip.
