7 Science is working its way through different types of dominance in alleles - we talked about complete, incomplete and co-dominance. Next we will look into using punnet squares to try to determine different offspring traits as well as how to use one to work backwards to determine traits or genotypes of parents. Should be pretty cool in the days ahead. I will post a review for the test next week Tuesday or Wednesday, with the test the following week.
8 Science is doing a fantastic job plotting volcanic and tectonic activity! We starting looking at the Pacific Ring of Fire, played the Johnny Cash favorite, and will be moving on into earthquake territory next. A review was posted for them in showbie.
7 Social Studies has begun our study of Ancient Greece - we will end up doing some research on Greek Mythology and the family tree of the Greek Gods in the days ahead. The geography of this ancient culture took a bit of time to grasp, but next up is the early forms of government and then - the myths, fables, and gods!
8 Social Studies just wrapped up their study of Washington & Adams's presidential terms - learned A LOT about Washington, and are moving west into Jefferson territory. We will be starting off with the election that put Jefferson in the president's seat, look into Lewis and Clark, and study the Shoshone and Sacagawea. At the end of this chapter, there will be a test which I will provide a study guide for in the days ahead.
