7 Science is working its way through the human body - we wrapped up skeletal and muscular systems and worked our way through the cardiovascular system. right now we are digesting information on the digestive and excretory system. We will have frog dissections coming up on March 28 and 29, just before beginning Project Lead the Way.
8 Science is getting their puzzle on in PLTW - we are creating wooden cube puzzles and looking at different forms of criteria, constraints, predictions and modeling - all used in the manufacturing industry! It should be a fun project - the students have been doing a wonderful job with the different activities and assignments.
7 Social Studies is starting to look at the impact Christianity had on the Roman Empire. We have looked at the passing of power from Julius Caesar to Octavian and the changes that took place under many of the different rulers of the region, as well as their achievements in engineering, medicine, and culture.
8 Social Studies is finishing up their study of President Andrew Jackson and Jacksonian Democracy. We will be having a quiz on his presidential era on Monday March 20th, and then dive into Westward Expansion and themes of agriculture, land ownership, foreign policy, and warfare over areas of California and Texas.
