This week sixth grade science will be presenting their planetary real estate projects. This will take place both Monday and Tuesday and maybe into Friday as well. Please remember that on Wednesday six grade will be attending the math day at Miller Stadium and that on Thursday six grade will be taking part in track day at Waterford Union High School.
7 Science
This week seventh grade science will be looking into food prep safety as well as many different illnesses that can come along through the foods we eat. Please remember that on Wednesday seventh grade will be attending the math day at Miller Stadium and that on Thursday seventh grade will be taking part in track day at Waterford Union high school.
8 Science
This week eighth grade will continue on with project lead the way. We will be looking at the use of electricity and small motor manufacturing. Please take a look at the awesome telegram devices that they created last week, and feel free to ask them any questions about the use of electromagnets in those devices. They have been doing an excellent job as a class with this exciting and challenging curriculum.
7 Social Studies
This week seventh grade social studies will continue to explore the indigenous cultures of Central and South America. We will learn more about the Aztecs and then look into the culture of the Incan Empire throughout the Andes. There will not be a quiz or test to accompany this unit of learning.
8 Social Studies
This week eighth grade social studies will continue to look at the reformation of an ever changing culture of America prior to the Civil War. We will be looking at the changes in the public education system, women’s rights, different artistic expressions that were emerging and also the call to end slavery, looking specifically at the underground railroad and Harriet Tubman. After this we will start to look at the growing separation that existed between the north and south.
