7 Science is starting the second half of Unit 2 - we will be looking at genetic variation and how the genes show themselves in our phenotypes. We will be looking at punnet squares, creating snorks, and have a mini scavenger hunt in the classroom decoding RNA.
7 Social Studies just finished their study of the Hebrew faith. Next, we will be studying the Ancient Greeks - their mythology, government, and history of wars and their amazing culture that has helped shape so much of Western society.
8 Science is halfway through our final unit of studying the earth's rocks, minerals, and physical features. We will be having a test in the weeks ahead - a review will be posted in showbie focusing on plate tectonics, layers of the earth, volcanic and mountain building activity and earthquakes.
8 Social Studies will next be looking at the presidency of John Adams including the ever popular XYZ affair and the unpopular Embargo Acts. After this, we start to venture west with Lewis and Clark, and learn about our third president, Thomas Jefferson.
Please be sure to watch for report cards in the week ahead - they will be sent out on Friday, January 25th.
