7 Science did a nice job with their skeleton and muscle study - I hope they showed you their skeleton hands! We will be moving on to the respiratory and cardiovascular systems next. There will be a quiz at the end of the lesson - looking at how bloods flows and how oxygen and other nutrients move in and out of our system.
8 Science is beginning our study of the oceans - from the deepest depths to the shallowest of shallows we will be looking at waves, under sea topography, and the animals that dwell there. There will not be a quiz with this unit, but we will be watching a short documentary or two on this alien part of our own world.
7 Social Studies has moved on to the Romans - we are looking at how they influenced our government, our legal systems, our writing, and our roads! There will be a quiz at the end of the chapter, and then we will learn about how the Romans interacted with another world religion, Christianity.
8 Social Studies will be looking at Andrew Jackson - the man, the hero, the.... villain? We will be looking at how this president rose through the ranks, his brilliant yet not always sanctioned military strategies, and his policy of Indian Removal which led to the Trail of Tears and removing countless indigenous people from their homes and culture.
