7 Science has wrapped up their study of the human body, but we are waiting on those pesky frogs to jump off the shelves and get here. In the mean time we are learning about our immune systems and infectious diseases. If they don't get here, then we will start PLTW Medical Detectives and then end the year with frog dissections.
8 Science has had a week of diving into oceanography - we are looking at currents, the energy transfer, the levels of the ocean in terms of geography and water density, and we will also check out the animals that dwell there. Next is weather!!! Then PLTW!
7 Social Studies has been checking out those ancient Romans! Toga Tuesday will be on the 27th so each student should bring something to turn into a toga! We will be playing ancient roman games, design mosaics and generals, and do some sweet roman numeral math!!!
8 Social Studies has been looking at life in the North - the Industrial North! We looked at what it would be like to live and work in the Mill-towns of the Northeast, and will be checking out the South next. We will have quizzes on both regions before beginning the Civil War.
7th Graders and 6th Graders have been told about their field trips for the year - ask them where they are going and what they will be doing!
