7 Science is wrapping up the basic study of Matter - we will next be looking more closely at elements, the periodic table, and how substances are categorized within it's rows and columns. We will be doing a mini- project on an element in the weeks ahead, so it may be a good idea to hit the craft store this weekend!
8 Science is devouring PLTW! They produced some wonderful foot orthosis for student with cerebral palsy! They then presented their models and will be continuing on with design by studying different sketching types used to convey information within the design process.
7 Social Studies is studying the ancient Greeks - we are currently reading the Greek Epic The Iliad and will then study the wars that the Greek took part in and and cultures that they impacted.
8 Social Studies is currently reviewing George Washington's time in office - the impact of Hamilton on the Banking System, and the hardships that the Nation encountered as it began to interact with other countries. After this chapter, we will study Jefferson as President, the Louisiana Purchase, and the impact of discoveries in the West.
Volleyball Sign was this past week, with an informational meeting held during Study Hall on Friday Feb. 10th. Practice will begin Monday Feb. 13th from 3:45 until 5:15. Parents, if your child is participating, please be sure to pick them up at 5:15 outside the main office doors. We will have more information once the games have been scheduled.
