7 Science is looking at the human bodies immune system and different diseases. They each randomly picked a disease from a list and are going to be sharing their findings on Thursday April 18. Each student can choose how they would like to share the information that they gathered - a song, presentation, poster, model - but there will be mandatory info that they have to include. A list of topics will be posted for them in google classroom to access and use to create a checklist to make sure they cover all required material.
8 Science did a great job creating informational posters for sever weather week at school. We will next be starting our journey forward with PLTW through the Magic of Electrons curriculum. We will be looking at the flow of electricity and the parts involved in creating and manipulating paths of electrons through different devices and snap circuit kits.
7 Social Studies is learning about the people and culture of ancient Japan. From the early Ainu people to the samurai, we will be covering the geography, language, art and military of the region. There will be a quiz on the chapter, and a review will be posted for them in their google classroom accounts to help them prepare and study.
8 Social Studies is learning about the Industrial Revolution and the importance it played in the North prior to the Civil War. We are starting out by looking at the impact Eli Whitney on society and manufacturing with interchangeable parts and will go on to learn more about life in the Mill systems and changes in transportation on land and water. We will be having a quiz on Thursday April 18 on the chapter. A review has been posted for the group in their google classroom to help prepare.
Friendly reminder that there is no school on Friday April 19 and Monday April 22. Enjoy the long weekend!
