7 SCIENCE - Students have been reviewing key concepts about the dynamics of populations in different ecosystems and biomes, as well as the flow of energy from one organism to another. Resource importance has also been stressed as we look at what impacts the carrying capacity for an area, as well as the impact that the gain or loss of a species has on the other factors in an environment.
8 SCIENCE - The 8th grade class just finished their intro to waves quiz and will be looking more closely at different types of waves - starting off with Sound Waves - there will be a quiz before Winter Break as this is a short unit, but not before December 19. As always, notes and review will be available on Showbie for them to download.
7 SOCIAL STUDIES has come a long way in Studying the foundation of Ancient India. We have looked at the importance of religion in shaping government, the different types of faith that are practiced on the subcontinent, and will be looking at achievements next. We did NOT have a vocab quiz this week, but will have one next week Tuesday on Vocabulary from this Chapter, after which we will begin our study of ancient China.
8 SOCIAL STUDIES - We have just wrapped up the Revolution! Great... now we have to figure out how our nation will organize and run. Not as easy as hoped. Students will be looking at the formation of early American government, the trials that the very first President had to go through, and how ongoing changes helped create the ability for our Nation to change with Society's demands in the years ahead.
