6 Science has covered Characteristics of Scientists and Psuedoscience vs. Science. Next up, we will be analyzing the scientific method, and look at how it can be used to demonstrate scientific concepts through experimental processes. We will also go over a review that we will use in our upcoming assessment in the week ahead.
7 Science is going to be applying characteristics and properties of matter to learn more about the atoms, molecules and substances that go into solutions and mixtures. We will also review concepts we have already learned so that we can start to prepare for our upcoming assessment in the week ahead.
7 Social Studies will be be reviewing concepts of early hominids and hunter-gatherer societies. We will be moving on to study Mesopotamia after we demonstrate our understanding of paleolithic peoples in the days ahead.
8 Science has been looking at the theory of evolution and the impact it has played in better understanding natural selection and the inheritance of traits that are passed on from parent generation to offspring. We will carry on to learn about evidence of change in the world over time - both biologically and geographically.
8 Social Studies has been looking into the many indigenous cultures that existed in pre-Columbian times. From here we will move on into pushes and pulls in Europe that led to exploration and the search for freedom across the Atlantic.
