6 Science has been busy! We are breaking back into our study of Archaea and hoping to move on to the next kingdom up the scale - protists and fungi! We will eventually have a quiz on the kingdoms - a study guide will be provided.
7 & 8 Science are working on their Mystery Illness Diagnosis - it deals with food borne pathogens and each group will be given a patient to diagnose. They will come together to present their research before we move on to our next adventure in science.
7 Social Studies just finished up studying West African civilizations with a quest on Thursday of last week. We are now going to be studying China and Japan - we will have some very busy weeks ahead, so it will be great for them to stay on top of their studies.
8 Social Studies began the Civil War on Thursday - comparing the strengths of the North and the South. We will then dive into the battles of the civil war, the strategies and leadership involved, and the daily life of soldiers in grey and blue.
Astronomy night is set to take place on Wednesday May 16th at 8:30pm. Parents must attend with their children. We will be outside so please dress warm. If it rains, there will not be a rain date until next fall.
