7 & 8 Science are both plowing through PLTW at a furious rate! They have studied blood pressure and heart rate, seen a variety of medical careers, and looked into the use of vaccinations to help stop the spread of different viruses like chicken pox. Next up, we will look at different symptoms and try to diagnose a patient with a mystery illness.
7 Social Studies is working through the various civilizations of Western Africa. We will be having a quiz on Thursday, May 10. From there, we will look into China and Japan, and then on to Meso- and South American civilizations.
8 Social Studies is looking at 5e United States during the beginning of the secession of the southern states. We are about to dive into the Lincoln Douglas Debates, and then, onto the Civil War.
Astronomy Night will take place the week of May 14th as the moons phases will be optimal for viewing the stars. We just have to keep our eyes on the weather.

We are still looking for volunteers for Senior Brunch Prep (students or parents) on May 15th from 3:45 to 5:30 pm to help prep food, as well as a few additional parent volunteers the day of from around 8 or so until noon-ish.
