7 Science is working through a delightful mini-study of illnesses and diseases. We each picked a different disease to study - popular ones were ticks and rabies... From here we will do our dissections after break - the frogs arrived! Students will be partnered up and will be looking at the different body systems that we have covered in the past quarter.
8 Science looked at the warming oceans, watched a documentary on Dr. Robert Ballard - the scientist that discovered the wreck of the Titanic, and are now going to see how weather systems develop and are mapped and used to create the forecasts we rely on for our travels, marketing, and trade.
7 Social Studies has been studying the Romans - we looked at the amazing life of the great military leader Caesar, followed his death at the hands of the Roman Senate, and then onto the revenge by his adopted son and assistant - Octavian and Marc Antony. We have started looking at the great accomplishments of the Romans and will be having a quiz at the end of our chapter of study.
8 Social Studies has a quiz on the North on Tuesday, May 27th. We will then begin studying the culture and economy of the South after Spring Break before beginning the Civil War. Students have been given a study guide in Showbie to study from. We completed the Chapter review in class on Monday.
A HUGE Thank you for all those who helped out at the tournament for our Volleyball Teams at Wheatland Center on Saturday. It was a great season and I look forward to coaching, again, next year.
Track & Field will be starting up shortly after we return from break - watch for information in the Parent Newsletter & Announcements from Ms. Bozio.
We will be having an Astronomy Night in April to check out the stars and planets in our night sky. I will be picking a date based on weather and scheduling of after school events.
